Press Release
St Woolos cathedral to remember victims of road traffic accidents
The Road Traffic Accident Figures for Wales have seen a slight drop again this year from 12,738 in 2005 to 12,692 in 2006, but they are still higher than other comparable countries*.
Commenting on these figures Fr Mark Soady of St Woolos Cathedral said, “For those involved in the recent accidents on the M4 these statistics are meaningless. While it is good news that the trend is downwards, we still have people suffering needlessly - and these people need to be cared for and comforted”.
On Saturday November 24th at 5pm, St Woolos Cathedral is holding its annual service to remember all those affected by road traffic accidents. The service is open to anyone who wishes to commit to God's love and care someone who has died in such an accident.
Revd Michael Marsden will be preaching. As Chaplain at Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny, he is used to caring for people injured in Road Traffic Accidents and their families and friends.
After the service, tea and coffee will be served and there will be a chance to talk.
